But am I Nuke LaLoosh or Crash Davis? - For the past two weeks I've been staring at my mailbox like Ralphie Parker waiting for his decoder ring. Why? Because my first piece in a nationally published gaming magazine was coming out this month. So when I opened my mailbox today to find my long awaited copy of Official Xbox Magazine (this month's issue is pictured above) I almost tripped over myself getting inside the house to open it up. Sure my contribution is only slightly over 100 words but I'm in it. Combine this with the recent emails I received from editors at GamePro wanting me to do some freelance work for them and I'm happy as hell.
.
To celebrate I'm giving away a copy of Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law (you can choose from PS2, Wii or PSP formats) to the first person who sends me an email with the page number where my little Tiger Woods '08 DC blurb sits.
.
Beerfest - All this talk of a beerfest in the comments section recently has been making me awfully thirsty. I'm out of town next weekend and the Super Bowl is after that but I think the following weekend should be the first As the Gaming World Turns Beertacular. I'm not sure where this will be held or what exactly will take place so if you have any suggestions, let 'em rip.

Good for you. Congratulations.
... my first piece in a nationally published gaming magazine...
Congrats amigo! Well deserved. Even though I don't own a k0nz013, I'll grab a copy. ;)

We should probably figure out WHAT we want it to be. LAN party? Just a social? Just a beertacular? All of the above? I mean, we are all gamers so we might wanna make gaming a part of it! I'm just saying...
Has anyone checked out VS Gaming Center (www.vsgamingcenter.com) off Powers? I haven't, but looking on a map it's not far from many of my fave beer places (Old Chicago, Rock Bottom, Indigo Joe's, etc.).
Maybe we Hit VS, then hit beers? Or vice versa.
Why didn't I think of that? I've been to VS and they have console set ups and LAN's. That just might do the trick. I've been to Indigo Joe's and I like it quite a bit more than Old C's.
As for which to do first, since there's sometimes kids around VS I'd suggest play first, beer second.
Any other thoughts on this?
You east siders...
I am down for whatever. As long as HP doesn't have me on the road - I am good and I am there.
You east siders...
Actually, I'm a northsider. I'm up off Baptist Rd. near Monument.
Only thing about VS... since we all are gamers, we all have the rigs and associated doodads. Why pay to use stuff we already have?
If all else fails we COULD do it at my place. Got the room. Got the wi-fi. Got the cable modem with 4-port router. Most importantly... got the beer room. ;)
And if we do a k0nz013 LAN, I got the home theater complete with 62" HDTV and 5.1 surround sound. Just got no consoles.
Just a thought! :)
I too live nowhere near the East side. I'm insulted. I live close to downtown.
As for Eli volunteering his home, if you're down with it I'll bring my 360. I could also bring my NES and SNES if we want to get all nostalgic.
you are insignificant next to the power of the force
